Angela Spencer, LLMSW
Therapist
Angela Spencer is a trauma-informed therapist who works with adults facing anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and loss, insomnia, self-esteem concerns, codependency, bipolar disorder, and major life transitions. She also specializes in helping individuals improve emotional regulation and navigate identity shifts that arise during challenging or transformative life experiences.
Her therapeutic style is warm, grounded, and collaborative. Angela draws from several evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused care, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, strengths-based interventions, and attachment-based approaches, to help clients gain insight, regulate emotions, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others.
Angela earned her Master of Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University and holds a Limited License in Clinical Social Work. She has worked in hospice care, bereavement services, grief support groups, and with individuals in foster care and disability services. Her clinical experience has equipped her to hold space for clients working through complicated emotional pain, identity struggles, and cycles of distress.
Angela works well with individuals who feel overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted and who are looking for a supportive space to pause, process, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Outside of the therapy space, Angela finds renewal in reading, long-distance bicycling, and spending time with her two cats, Mya and Willow.
