These flowers bloom best in full sun. Wild flowers will sprout in the most difficult conditions. While rich soil and fertilizer is helpful it is not necessary unless the soil is very poor. Steady water is helpful but most regions receive sufficient rainfall. Watering may be required during dry spells.

Clear the area to bare soil and work the soil before planting. When spreading mixing 5 parts sand to 1 part seeds allows for more even distribution and also provides a way to identify which portions of the site have been seeded.
After the seeds have been sown, lightly compress the seeds into the soil about 1/4 inch to protect from birds and wind.
You may only see a handful of blooms the first season and this is normal. Most perennials have limited germination the first season but will grow in their potential the following seasons.
